borrowing a good idea. . . the letter Q (cont)

there is only one Q. . .

a man after my own heart, if ever there was one. . .

is normally followed by U?
so you're here too!

qui? she. . .

quo? oh no!

quatre femmes. . .

the Queen of Hearts

The Queen of Hearts she made some tarts all on a summer's day;
The Knave of Hearts he stole the tarts and took them clean away.
The King of Hearts called for the tarts
and beat the Knave full sore.
The Knave of Hearts brought back the tarts
and vowed he'd steal no more.

This rhyme first appeared in print in 1782.
But the term and famous reference to the '
Queen of Hearts'
is found in Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland', 1805.
The
Queen of Hearts in the story was famous for the saying
"Off with their heads!"
when she was annoyed with her servants.

quiver

(funny how some feathery things start with q)

Quiet makes me happy.......

And the quill poem, rocks.
As does the quill.

Delightful, the little poem :) It's like the opposite of "for want of a nail the battle was lost"

I, Like The View said...

it was of mine own invention. . .

and I'm so very glad U are here too

Oh, so clever! And lateral :)
I love that lateralness.

are you familiar with the Q of star trek?

I, Like The View said...

erm, no. . . the only Star Trek I was/am familiar with was the original one from my youth (can't remember if there was a Q in that - it was so long ago!)

and mig I didn't write the little quill poem at the end, but the one at the top about U following Q - don't want to lay claim to something that's not mine, and think I was confused when I read your comment. . .
