this morning I'm humming a tune and I can't

for the life of me think what it is

very irritating. . .

I thought it might be something to do with a piano piece by Debussy, Preludes, but it's not. . . Nocturnes, no, L'Après-midi d'un Faune, no, and then I did a little more searching, and I think I might have been thinking of this, Clair de Lune (Moonlight) - but now I have that tune in my head and can't remember what I was thinking of orginally!

I'll settle with moonlight, which is quite apt since the sun hadn't risen when I started thinking about this, and I really like the associated image - Fireworks - by Whistler. . .

and Whistler makes me think of John Singer Sargent - so I'll leave you for the moment with one of my favourite paintings. . .

I got quite tearful the other day, listening to Xeni Jardin play Clair de Lune on KCRW, and talking about her dad, and the smells of her childhood home.

Eric Satie? Whenever I get one of those French tunes floating around in my head it always turns out to be him. And now I've got moonlight playing in the background - thanks 'shot :)
That's a very nice Whistler, I haven't seen it before.
(By the way, may I borrow your comments for a moment to say I can't get to see your blog any more 'shot. It times out whenever I try)
