give a man a fish. . .

teach a man to fish. . .

there is a flock of cormorants fishing in the river - "ducking" and diving, so to speak

I wonder what they find

Fingerlings, I expect, and smolts. the Thames is much cleaner than it was when I was a lad.

I just came to check that Dave did not make the obvious comment on a cormorant thread.
When Dave was a lad, the Thames was a glacier.

Give a man a fish, and his house will stink. Teach a man to fish and accept the karma for the consequent devastation of the world's rivers and oceans.

<-- Prefers to think they're doing snorkeling.

Shrimps?
I'm just dropping in with a hug because I lurked last night and it was all so fascinating and wonderful I forgot to comment. (the marvellous light art, and the wonderful west wind morning and Klimt who I absolutely love and gorgeous Hundertwasser and I do hope your back's better and you felt better after being angry)
Tonight I'm knackered and trying to catch up with sleep.
(((((((((((( I )))))))))))) Lots and lots of them.

Hey J,

This is pathetic plea to help me win the Life Is Short - East Dessert First Contest. My wonderful friend Mags…a professional chef in real life…is awarding some of her handmade goodies.

All you need to do to help me win…laughing…is go over to her site and leave a comment telling her that I sent you.

If I do win….I will send each of my “helpers” a special gift specifically from Santa Cruz. (yes…this is a bribe…but it could be great fun!)

Here is a link to the post:

Thanking you in advance….
