The North wind doth blow and we shall have snow,
And what will poor robin do then, poor thing?
He'll sit in a barn and keep himself warm
and hide his head under his wing, poor thing.

"the purpose of the words to 'The North Wind doth blow' is to ensure that a child associates security with home whilst empathising with the plight of the robin"

*fighting the temptation to sit in a barn and hide head under wing*

Yep... I too associated security with hiding in a barn, like Alan Bates in "Whistle Down The Wind"

<--took a quilt outside with her this morning

Now, I'm not exactly sure what I'll do when it's -20....but it worked for this morning!

Guessin' that's what matters, eh?

Today.
And what I do to make it all work today.

I do empathize with the poor robin. And I'm all about a secure/safe place for kiddos and grownups alike......but gosh, can we slow down the season change just a TAD, please?

I'm too young to remember Whistle Down the Wind with the young Hayley Mills.

this is our Indian Summer...cool mornings and evenings mid 50's (FAHRENHEIT) and the days in the high 70's.

I love autumn.

I'm wearing socks full time now and polo neck woollies.
But the North Wind gets under my tail (ask ziggi) and makes me want to GO OUT!!!! And smell the freshness in the air and wonder how soon the leaves will turn to russet glory and remember all the Autumnal beginnings that are still in my head.
I love the changing seasons.
