I was supposed to be elsewhere this weekend

only I flunked it at the last minute and didn't go ..

:-/

sometimes I just can't do it,
and I can't make myself either

.
:-\

and tho I hate cancelling plans and I hate letting people down (sorry sorry sorry, but I would like to come another time if you'll have me), I know sometimes I can only do one thing: be

so, even tho I'd told Mini-Teen I wouldn't be here this weekend, when she texted me first thing with her plans for the day, since I was here I had no option but to fit in really. . .

if I say we started at a last minute appointment at the hair-dresser's and ended up at a last minute viewing of a movie, but skip the middle bit(s) for fear of boring you, you'll get the idea

considering the last film I saw at the cinema, with Middle One, was HellBoy II, and I've watched Local Hero on my own here, and The Diving-Bell and The Butterfly and Meet Joe Black on DVD with the POVSs, it made a total and refreshing change to see The Duchess
.

it wasn't really much of a change to see Keira Knightley tho, as I think she only ever seems to play one kind of person (a pretty one) and only seems to have one style of acting (looking pretty and parting her lips and making her the bottom lip quiver and tremble in a pretty way) but then that's fair enough because she is pretty. . .

sometimes I think maybe Keira feels like I do - that she can't do everything, and she can only do one thing: be

(and if I add that in her case that's "be pretty and get paid a fortune for it and get to snog people like Johnny Depp" you'll know it's just sour grapes really, won't you)

it is good to "be" even if you don't do the other stuff...

there are more weekends

and Kiera is rather stunning.

I know she was in Bend It Like Beckham (altho I've never seen that) and other things, but the first film I saw her in was Love Actually (still to this day one of my favourites)

and she was pretty stunning in that

Meh, I've had better.

Just "being" is a good place to start and build from there.

Keira's a pretty enough girl I suppose. Very thin, though. She could use a couple of bacon butties.

Enjoy the sunshine, wherever you are, and whatever you do. :-)

I bought the Observer just now simply because it had Local Hero in it! Perhaps we can watch it sometime?

Okay.....I'm gonna be the odd duck out here--cuz I have no clue who the gal is and why she'd be 'snogging' Johnny Depp. LOL

It's GOOD to just 'be'....and another weekend will come when it'll be right for you, yaknow?

<--could have gotten ya a note from Studley

I'm still looking for Keira Knightley in a size 14...

... and with brains...
(cuz I'm fussy about brains)

But it is sometimes nice to just be...

And snog Johnny Depp and get paid.

oh gordie :-) you will find her, I know it. . .

mel she was the pretty girl who got married at the very beginning of Love Actually (and the best man was in love with her) - did you ever see Love Actually?

and she was the pretty girl in Pirates of the Caribbean. . . she snogged Johnny (he was a pirate) in one of the films, in PotC she ended up marrying the guy who was the elf (or some other kind of fairy creature, but not a hobbit) in Lord of the Rings, erm whose name and characted I forget

does that help! probably not!!

zigz I'd love to. . . please save it! (-: (x)

(I'd like a note from Studley, btw, but I'm curious as to which of his eight legs he'd hold a pen with!)

I, Like The View said...

(eight notes, possibly?!)

a note from studely would probably be in sidewalk chalk...in eight different colors....

"Love Actually" is one of my faves...I love the opening scene with the band members popping up...

ha! I was thinking of musical notes too g!! wonder what mel would think about a musical Studley. . .

;-)

katherine red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet and possibly black! he could be a rainbow spider!! I so hope this is going to make mel smile!!!

that wedding scene is one of the my favourite scenes in a film ever, I think - very simple, but beautifully executed (apart from most of the Scottish land and sea scapes in Local Hero)(oh, and possibly the scene in one of the Beatles film ,when they each go into a front door of some terraced houses in a street, and once inside it turns out all the houses are knocked into one)

*smiling and laughing*

I'm SURE Studley would be honoured to write notes--all eight of 'em...AND hum along as he writes. (He lives here--he's bound to sing, dontchathink?!)

AND....ya'll have me sorta kinda hoping it rains now. LOL

Can't ya just SEE a rainbow spidery guy on the patio sidewalk?!

:-)

Did I mention that youse guys are just too cool?

Yeah, well.....just did!

*hugs all the way around!*

Oh--and yes thank you, that did help.
I know the piratey girl from PoC.
I think.
Unless there's more than one.
And then if there is....I'm back at the drawing board!
Sad, huh?
