And it would have been a great tragedy to have missed it.

Thank you....what an awesome prayer to make on behalf of your friends who hope and pray the same things for you.

love after love

The time will come when, with elation you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome, and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror. Sit. Feast on your life.

DEREK WALCOTT

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, blue skies from pain. Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. What have you found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. PINK FLOYD

Thank you for the days, those endless days, those sacred days you gave me. I’m thinking of the days - I won’t forget a single day, believe me. I bless the light, I bless the light that lights on you, believe me. And though you’re gone, you’re with me every single day, believe me. Days. I remember all my life. Days when you can’t see wrong from right. You took my life but then I knew that very soon you’d leave me. But it’s alright. Now I’m not frightened of this world believe me. I wish today could be tomorrow, the night is long it just brings sorrow, let it wait. And though you’re gone, you’re with me every single day - believe me.

Every single day. Believe me.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies. Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly, a girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, towering over your head. Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes, and she's gone. Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies, everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers, that grow so incredibly high. Newspaper taxis appear on the shore, waiting to take you away. Climb in the back with your head in the clouds, and you're gone. Picture yourself on a train in a station, with plasticine porters with looking glass ties, suddenly someone is there at the turnstile, the girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

Henry W Longfellow

The rocky ledge runs far into the sea, and on its outer point, some miles away, the lighthouse lifts its massive masonry, A pillar of fire by night, of cloud by day. Even at this distance I can see the tides, Upheaving, break unheard along its base, A speechless wrath, that rises and subsides in the white tip and tremour of the face. And as the evening darkens, lo! how bright, through the deep purple of the twilight air, Beams forth the sudden radiance of its light, with strange, unearhly splendour in the glare! No one alone: from each projecting cape And perilous reef along the ocean's verge, Starts into life a dim, gigantic shape, Holding its lantern o'er the restless surge... The sea-bird wheeling round it, with the din of wings and winds and solitary cries, Blinded and maddened by the light within, Dashes himself against the glare, and dies. A new Prometheus, chained upon the rock, Still grasping in his hand the fire of love, it does not hear the cry, nor heed the shock, but hails the mariner with words of love. "Sail on!" it says: "Sail on, ye stately ships! And with your floating bridge the ocean span; Be mine to guard this light from all eclipse. Be yours to bring man neared unto man."

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum, Bring out the coffee, let the mourning begin.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning above, Scribbling on the sky the message He Was Love, Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood. For nothing now can ever come to any good.

it's all right

Here comes the sun,
here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right.
Little darling, it's been
a long cold lonely winter.
Little darling, it feels like
years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun,
here comes the sun
and I say it's all right.
Little darling, the smiles
returning to the faces.
Little darling, it seems like
years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun,
here comes the sun
and I say it's all right.
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, I feel that
ice is slowly melting.
Little darling, it seems like
years since it's been clear.
Here comes the sun,
here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right.
It's all right.

THE BEATLES

true minds

Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments. Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken; it is the star to every wandering bark, whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks within his bending sickle's compass come: love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, but bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

what would YOU do?

What would do think
if I sang out of tune,
Would you stand up
and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears
and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.

I get by with a little help from my friends, I get high with a little help from my friends, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends.

What do I do when my love is away? (Does it worry you to be alone?) How do I feel by the end of the day? (Are you sad because you're on your own?)

No, I get by with a little help from my friends, Mmm, I get high with a little help from my friends, Mmm, I'm gonna to try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love.
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love.

Would you believe in a love at first sight? Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time. What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.

Oh... I get by
with a little help from my friends,
I'm gonna try
with a little help from my friends
I get high
with a little help from my friends
Yes, I get by
with a little help from my friends,
with a little help from my friends...

There's no time for us
There's no place for us
What is this thing that
builds our dreams
yet slips away
From us
Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to live forever?
There's no chance for us
It's all decided for us
This world has only
one sweet moment
set aside for us
Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to live forever?
Who dares to love forever?
When love must die
But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever
And we can love forever
Forever is our today
Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to live forever?
Forever is our today
Who waits forever anyway?

Got a black magic woman
I got a black magic woman
Yes, I got a black magic woman
Got me so blind I can't see
But she's a black magic woman
And she's tryin' to make a devil
out of me
Don't turn your back on me baby
Don't turn your back on me baby
No, don't turn your back
on me baby
You're messin around
with your tricks
Don't turn your back on me baby
'Cause you might just
break up my magic stick
You got your spell on me baby
You got your spell on me baby
Yes, you got your spell on me baby
You're turning my heart into stone
I need you so bad
Magic woman

I can't leave you alone
Yes, I need you so bad
Well, I need you darling
Yeah, I need you darling
Yes, I want you to love me
I want you to love me
I want you to love me
Yes, I need your love
Oh, I need your love so bad
I want you love me

as sung by SANTANA

Three little birds,
Sat on my window.
And they told me
I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet, little girls
Double-dutch on the concrete.
Maybe sometimes,
We've got it wrong,
But it's alright
The more things seem to change,
The more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.

Girl, put your records on,
Tell me your favourite song
You go ahead,
Let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead,
Let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself
Somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky,
Sunburnt and lonely,
Sipping tea in the bar
By the roadside,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys
Fool you,
Got to love that afro hair do.
Maybe sometimes,
We feel afraid, but it's alright
The more you stay the same,
The more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's strange?

'Twas more than I could take,
Pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake,
I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise,
That you don't even have to
Try any longer?
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your records on,
Tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Oh, you're gonna find yourself
Somewhere, somehow
