I can see clearly now, the rain is gone
.
.
I can see all obstacles in my way
.
.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
.
.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun shiny day
.
I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I've been prayin' for
.
.
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun shiny day
.
Look all around, there's nothin' but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin' but blue skies
.
.
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
.
.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
.
.
Sun shiny day

.

Ok...I've just spent 10 minutes on YouTube confirming that it is Johnny Nash singing this song. I saw your post and thought, gee I didn't know Roberta Flack had a version. Well, if she does...I can't find it.

The "Roberta Flack" version isn't Roberta Flack. It's Johnny Nash.

Isn't it?

anyway...nice walk down memory lane. Great lyrics too.

Upon further investigation, he wrote the song too!

Ok. ALL the info you need for this tune, huh?

p.s. Gorgeous photos to accompany these lyrics!

:-)

I, Like The View said...

anon he is clever, is our gordie, very much so - he's probably segued into singing that Paul Shyman song "Fifty Ways to Lose you Liver" as well

;-)

(I was so sure Roberta sang this, but the only version of her's that I found was to a video of WW2 bombing raids, so I thought I'd skip over that and stick with the cheerful pictures. . .)

XX to you both

great song...

google is telling me anne murray sang it at one point....and bob marley....

wikipedia shows a dozen or more covered it...

I'd like this one to get stuck in my head for a while...
