modus operandi

so I did one of mel's inventories

it's a little like the "state of your life" set of questions (that is: fill-your-blog-something-to-keep-yourself-amused-with-when-you-get-distracted-from-writing-about-what-is-really-going-on)

only I focussed, and it wasn't distraction

I won't bore you with the details

(group *sigh* of relief)

but a thought occured to me whilst I was musing about it: I used to do my daily writing after I had walked Small Person to school (when we lived in the village within walking distance), on the return journey I'd buy my newspaper and then get a coffee - sometimes I sat in the coffee shop and watched people and read the paper and thought about stuff, sometimes I would march home along the river path looking at the tide and pondering the flotsam and jetsom of life and then get ready to go binding. . .

now I sit here early in the morning, while the house is quiet and the thoughts and stuff and musings and ponderings that fill my head are different - or is that just age and experience?

(I have a greater dilemma now on the housing front, which I want to pick your brains about later, you lucky lucky people you)

Clearly it's old age.

yeah, that's what I thought when I looked in the mirror this morning

Musings and ponderings wander and change like a MW radio reception. They're swayed by many things. Age and experience, yes but anything could do it.

It's not old age, it's a new lease of life.

*nodding*

I'd wager it's the change in circumstances in that new lease and (gosh, I don't believe I'm saying this...LOL) the perception you hold.

You're a far cry from 'old'! Sheeeshhhh.

(Have I ever mentioned how much I LIKE Gordie?)

OMG, the Gordie Fan Club strikes again!

I,S,LTV - Sweetie, you are not old. You are nowhere near old. Tired? Maybe. Old? No way! Get some rest and then get back to being young with the rabble! We'll wait for as long as it takes.

By co-incidence, this statistic just showed up in my Inbox: "The age at which we are most vulnerable to depression is 44, while a 70-year-old who is physically fit is, on average, as happy and mentally healthy as a 20-year-old. "[Social Science and Medicine] Here comes happiness...

gordie no no no NO I'm currently only 43 - don't want it to get worse after the next b'day!!!

but yeay to the coming of happiness

for all of us - and the continuation of it for those who have it already

I hope I make it to the happiness part. I hope we all do (those of us that haven't yet)

Perhaps the musings and ponderings are different because you've already settled the previous musings and ponderings. Or perhaps they've (the old musings/ponderings) have just been reshuffled further back in the deck as different issues take precedence. I dunno, maybe it's the meds.

OK, I understand how no man is an island, but I don't get how a woman might be France. C;)

And I have usually found it liberating to not know what to do, because then I was free to do anything - and if anyone asked why I did such a thing I could say, "I don't know... had to do something." C:D

It's OK, honey... after your birthday you will still be vulnerable, but you can accept your vulnerability and the support of people you trust.

I love you guys

New musings and ponderings isn't bad is it? Surely it just means you've got new things to muse and ponder upon. It's just change.
