the traveller's palm
it is said that this plant (it's not actually a palm, but a member of the bird of paradise plant family, thus related to the delicious double oh seven and a half) grows in a certain orientation, thus aiding travellers in working out the direction of North. . .
apparently the leaves spread from east to west: so anyone who is lost who has also lost their compass, but remembers "never eat shredded wheat" from their childhood, will know where North is; and anyone who can just remember things without silly rhymes, similarly
mind you if you are lost without a map as well, perhaps knowing where North is won't help you a jot - in which case the plant collects rainwater in the stems of its leaves so you can have a much needed drink while you work out what to do next should you come across one
I myself didn't need a map or a compass to find my way home, as the pilot who flew SP and I back had a pretty good navigation system - but I am a lot further North now than I have been for the last week and it is good to be here. . .
I hope you are all well
I'm looking forward to catching up
with you soon
much love to you today

welcome back
Good to have you back.
Sorry about the mess.....
Ooh. Never knew that palm thing. Mindja, never eaten shredded wheat either - couldn't see the point.
Welcome back.
When lost, I use the up-down technique. If we go up, we can get a better view of what's what.
If we go down, we eventually come to water and all water go to town.
C:)
Oh, were you gone? ;-P
I look forward to the stories and pictures of your holiday and join my voice (and happy dance) to the pleasure caused by your return.

East, West
Home's best
title + first label = East, West, Home's Best
but home is where the heart is, and mine is broken is right now - so where does that leave me?
(that's rhetorical BTW)
Welcome back.
Isn't there a thing about the mossy side of a tree pointing north? Or did I dream that? Never was a boy scout.
Oh wonderful, you're back! (no it's all right Barney, I'm just doing a happy dance - no really, nothing wrong with me at all)
Yay! Welcome back :)
(My fingers are crossed.)

OK, pleased you're home. When will you tell us where you went and what you did? The Balearics? Canary? Sicily? Scilly?
Oh, Malc...that only works in your hemisphere. And right now, it's useless here cos the moss is on everything.
yes, good modern technology they've got on these plane-majigs these days, wot wot?
I remember the good old days when every cockpit grew its own palm...
by the way, why is it called a cockpit? Did someone just hate pilots or something?
but you will have a home
and it won't be broken
it will mend,
home and heart
