Friday. . . another one

nachos, folks, today we're having nachos

don't ask me why, I'm not quite sure! and mine don't look exactly like that, and they are certainly served on a nicer plate (a girl doesn't get anywhere in life without having a nice serving dish or two, I can tell you) but that's the nearest you'll get to what I'm offering up today

if you want we can keep all the topping separate and you can just dip and pick as you wish - altho personally I like mine with huge dollops of sour cream, generous spoonfuls of fresh tomato salsa, loads of sliced up mini gherkins, masses of finely grated parmesan and coarsely grated emmental (definitely none of that orange "cheese" so popular over the pond - sorry folks!) and then stick it under the grill until the emmental melts and the parmesan crisps up. . .

of course, I'm not making it compulsory and I know a plate of nachos won't be to everyone's taste, but they had bags of the corn chips going two-for-one in the supermarket and I had a jar of gherkin lurking in the back of the fridge and I just got carried away. . .

. . .if you'd rather stick to Crunchies, pop corn and apples, that is absolutely fine. . .

. . .I just fancied something a little different

have a good day

perhaps your day will have
something a little different in it
for you to enjoy

I do hope so

I love Nachos...and I'll happily accept your emmental...

but...

Gherkins?????

tell me please this is a translation thing?

(cause our gherkins are small sweet pickles...which have no business being on a yummy plate of nachos....)

I, Like The View said...

ever tried it. . .

!!

I am overwhelmed by your consideration. How could you have known that I am on a wheat-free diet at the moment?

Rimshot said...

yeah, I'm with K on the gherkin thing, substitute jalepeno slices and we're in business

As long as you hold the meat, I'll try the gherkins and or the jalepenos..LOL

OMGosh....

After a full afternoon/evening at the worksite I returned to make a plate of this--to munch on while I made the rounds. NO kidding.

Minus gherkins--sorry 'bout that. But omgosh did it hit the spot....yaknow, THAT spot--whichever spot that was....

Freshly grated colbyjack cheese, though. Your emmental sounds just fine. And I'd even try gherkins--if we had some.
But no--none of that orange stuff they sell in jars. *shaking head* Ick....

Yes please--more! :-)

I don't think so, thank you. I feel a little delicate this morning.

coffeeee give me coffee - I need something to incite a pulse rate or I'll just have to pull the duvet over my head and not go to work.

I, Like The View said...

lots of coffee ZigZ, that's no problem - must be the end of term soon, not long to keep going!

Dave delicate?

Mel great! more coming up. . .

sorrow nope, no meat

shot you and katherine can fiddle about with the details for your portions, that is just fine (but I don't do chillie, so no jalapeno, tyvm)

Vicus you too? Mel has been for quite a while now. . . anyhow, I'm not prying; however I am delighted that you're overwhelmed. . .

katherine. think it's a personal thing - I certainly didn't follow any recipes

Right.

Coffee.
I musta been nutz to think nachos at near midnight was a 'good plan'.

Vicus is doing a 'wheat free' diet of his own volition? (Coffee. I NEED coffee..) As in willingly and freely?

Vicus Scurra said...

Yes. What other reason would there be? There are no biscuit police in North East Hampshire. There is no penalty for consuming durum wheat pasta.

Forgive me sir.....as one who's been 'ordered' by the physician to surrender wheat, malt and barley products--I stand in awe that someone would actually volunteer!!

Wow.

*sigh*

Maybe it's more about being 'told' than I thought?

*sigh*

Nope.

Another helping of nachos please.

Himself is sickly and I've gotta fend for myself.

*yawning and waving*

Good Saturday to you, ma'am.

I, Like The View said...

Dave lemons? I thought you'd find them refreshing

Mel it's Sunday now - but I think you might still be asleep (wish I was!); I very much hope that Himself has recovered

shot did you like them with pickles?

Mel and Vicus I hope you've cleared that up now - so glad that I could provide a gluten free snack for you both
