out

of milk, of coffee, of fags

in these circumstances (no milk, no coffee, no fags) there is no option but to throw on a cardigan and go. . .

. . .out

I purchased a newspaper too, and am only sitting here doing this because I can't work out the sudoku right now

it's "hard", apparently - my brain is mush, it seems

the manager of the Italian deli asked me to critique his xmas display (nothing is selling and he can't figure out why)

I point out that whilst the packaging is wonderful on the outside, it does rather obscure the contents on the inside - and for the sums of money being asked, perhaps people would like to know what each item comprises. . .

I also point out that we're English. . .
and it's only the beginning of November. . .
we've only just done Fireworks Night and Halloween. . .
(and we only do that because of peer pressure
from our cousins across the pond). . .

(no offence mel, but it's true!)
. . .so WHY ON EARTH would we be thinking of xmas purchases already*. . .

. . .he listened to my views

(obviously I am the exception to *that rule, but - a boy-scout at heart - be prepared is my motto on occasion) (I purchased some gold foil covered chocolate dragees, since I didn't have enough cash for the coffee beans I wanted and had to bump up my spend to justify using a card)
.
POSTSCRIPT:
still haven't finished the blasted sudoku

Oh..and as long as we're on the topic of the quirky cousins across the pond....

<--almost DONE with holiday shopping cuz she started in February.

Just confessing. LOL

(((((((((( ILTV )))))))))))

<--will also confess to being irritated with the earliness of Santa's and the poor left out Mr. Thanksgiving Turkey.

NO peer pressure on the Thanksgiving deal, huh? :-D

it is fun, and I'm glad of it - but when I was growing up we didn't do it

can you believe that?

only in the last 30 years (jeeze, I'm so old) has the tradition taken off

but it is fun

and I'm glad of it

thank you!

and, erm, yeah, I was outta coffee (but I drink so much of the stuff it's not surprising that I run out - and everything is so disorganised for me at the moment: living here, being there, not fitting in grocery shopping for me but doing theirs, getting distracted by xmas spends. . . the good news it all I have to do is put on a cardigan and pop over the way and - hey presto! - coffee to my heart's content)

No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but..two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means

King of the road.

(and sipping coffee.....)

On some things, you CAN rely....

Dang me, dang me
Y'oughta take a rope
An' hang me
Hang me from the highest
Treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

It's still the same old story
A quest for love and glory
On that you can rely
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.
