.why is it that whenever I see Anna Massey I think of Mrs Danvers?

Oh, the female demons of your past are coming out to haunt you...
Last night, I dreamt I was helping my best friend to kill our primary school teachers (who were all male, btw).
why can't I exorcise the spirit of Mrs Danvers from Anna Massey?
is it because Anna is always typecast into that kind of part. . . (just as after the second Mrs DeWinter, Joanna David always seemed slightly wimpy and pathetic in her other roles)
Yup.
Absolutely no clue what/who you're speaking about.
Gosh, I'm thinkin' it's time for another round of questions for himself to shake his head over.
it's the first line from Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca - a television adaption (BBC, of course) of the book was shown in, erm *scratches head*, *goes off to check*, *returns*, 1979. . .
if Himself did watch it, he'll hopefully recall how chilling Ms Massey was as the housekeeper, and how fey and naive Joanna David was as the unnamed narrator (only known as "the second Mrs DeWinter")
Anna Massey was in a 1950's (?ish) film of Swallows and Amazons wasn't she? I wasn't allowed to stay up and watch the film so I don't know who she acted.
Last night I dreamt of walking along a dutch dyke on the way to church, wearing ENORMOUS flowery pink bloomers. I'm seriously worried about the state of my mind. They were very clean bloomers though.
LOL @ Mig!
I'm not worried about your mind--though I am seriously concerned about the bloomers. LOL
Flowery, pink ones, eh? *snickering*
TO church--ON the dike.....
Oh, Mig.....you're priceless.
And you shared it with us, even!
<--now has a vision goin' in her head that she just plain didn't ASK for.....ROFL
she's reminding me of the Gotcha Girl!!!
It was a bit like that :) But BIGGER! They billowed!
I have to say, Youngest and Partner and the three children were very polite about the bloomers.
Mig, were they polite about the bloomers in the dream, or when you woke up?
Anna Massey on being Mrs Danvers (interview in The Guardian)
Anna Massey says she wanted to explore her character's lesbian obsession with Rebecca. I imagine that would add extra layers of confusion and insecurity to the second Mrs de Winter's feelings about her predecessor.
some times it is good to be days behind because the comments help me figure out what the post was all about...
