end of the week again. . .

. . .thought we'd have some French goodies instead of the usual Crunchies (but I'll put them in the side bar, just in case)
.
so I'm off to the market! see you later (hope you're hungry)

POST SCRIPT
.
*returns heavily laden*
.
when I used to go on my French exchange trips - annually, between the ages of 10 and 17 - and stayed with the French family, the first person up in the morning had the job of going to the boulangerie to buy the bread for breakfast and lunch (in France, it's a twice daily trip - someone goes in the afternoon to buy the bread for tea and the evening dinner, too)
.
Madame would leave some francs on the counter in the kitchen and one of us would cycle down the road and return with four or five baguettes - there is NOTHING on earth like the taste of freshly cooked proper French baguette. . .
.

I used to dip mine in my bowl of hot chocolate (this was what the children had for breakfast in the family I stayed with), or have it with butter and jam (Madame's was home made, and if you were the first one with a new pot, you had to break the seal of wax over the top of the jar - which often meant that your slice of bread, butter and jam had some shards of wax in it too)
.
Madame rarely bought cake. . .
.

.
. . .but she did used to give us a piece of baguette with some chocolate squares pushed down the middle, for tea
.
popcorn in France is much the same as popcorn anywhere really, altho this summer my children ate some out of paper cones with a rather scary clown image on them. . . I don't do scary clowns (cos I don't do clowns) (altho part of a cone did go in the scrap book) so we're having ours today out of the following:

now, who wanted French beans?

bon appetit!
