he's one of my favourite artists

only he was an architect too - so I think this is actually an image of one of his buildings. . .

Hundertwasser! What a guy...

(And you know what, I just went and read his Wikipedia entry, and discovered his full adopted name was Friedensreich Regentag Dunkelbunt Hundertwasser.

Which means "peace-rich rainy day darkly multicoloured hundred water.)

Looking out my window at a darkly multicoloured rainy day right now.

we had the rain yesterday - it's blue skies and sunshine here (for the moment)

I went to an exhibition of his in 1983 or 1984 and bought a couple of postcards (which I've since mislaid) of pieces of his work which featured golden paint on (what I now know to be) the windows of the buildings

I'd never bought postcards with "gold" leaf on them before, and the colours were so vibrant. . .

he often seems to have trees too - really rich greens

gorgeous

(he's quite Gaudi-esque, or Gaudi was quite Hundertwasser-esque, in the use of ceramics on buildings)

Yeah yeah.....knew who he was--even knew he was one of the favored by you--I couldn't quite figure out the work. Though I do like the windows of the mind. And the colours....brilliant colours!

And I now like the name, even if it is a mouth full!

see, I didn't even know he was an architect until this weekend. . .

And a town in my homeland (NZ) has Hundertwasser public toilets! How amazingly cool is that!

I didn't know he was an architect but I saw some of his postcards once, long ago and immediately fell in love. Bought loads of them and couldn't bear to part with any so I never sent them to anyone! I use them as bookmarks though :)
