what a combination

pinch punch, first of the month
... NO RETURNS...
a pinch and a kick for being so quick!
a punch in the eye for being so sly!

AND

TGIFriday and/or "POETS" day*
.
(*piss off early, tomorrow's Saturday)

so, please, do help yourself to the almost obligatory (unless you have a very good excuse) chocolate, popcorn (salted, buttered, sugared - as you like it) from the sidebar, or for those on a diet (that's a good excuse) skip the calories and read a piece of poetry. . .

Being your slave, what should I do but tend
Upon the hours and times of your desire?
I have no precious time at all to spend,
Nor services to do, till you require.
Nor dare I chide the world-without-end hour
Whilst I, my sovereign, watch the clock for you,
Nor think the bitterness of absence sour
When you have bid your servant once adieu;
Nor dare I question with my jealous thought
Where you may be, or your affairs suppose,
But, like a sad slave, stay and think of nought
Save, where you are how happy you make those.
So true a fool is love that in your will,
Though you do any thing, he thinks no ill
.
.

Oh......if nothing else, I'm rather consistent.

Popcorn, please--buttered and salted, of course.

I have no cholesterol problem to contend with, no high blood pressure--what the heck....LOL LOTS of butter and salt! :-)

Happy first of the month/Friday to you, ma'am!

I, Like The View said...

I like that!

as much popcorn as you'd like, Ms Mel and a very very happy Friday to you

I might haffta use that at work today--*snickering*

Of course, the joy in using it is being the only one who knows what it means. ;-)

Meself and my "litte'un" found an old fashioned sweetshop in Stromness yesterday selling big bags of cinder toffee. We had a bag and I thought of you.
