Smallest Person had a terrible day. . .

:-(

the stupid exams they make children here take at the age of 10/11 have irritated her, she fell out with some of her friends at playtime, her best friend (has been since the age of three) is leaving the country in the summer, SP is nervous about changing schools in the autumn and wonders if anyone will like her; I think she has some pre-teen hormonal stuff going on too. . .

Middle One, her former ally, gangs up against her, with The Teen; those two will be heartbreakers for sure when they grow up a bit, but in the meantime I don't want them breaking hers. . .

this evening I took her to see the former shoebox in the new abode, the Polish Five have transformed it - she is overjoyed! but on the way home from school, when we were chatting about her day in the car, she whispered the most beautiful thing to me:

"mum, you really know how to cheer me up"

that is one of the nicest things someone has said to me for a very very long time (you lovely lot being the exceptions to the rule) and it cheers me up immensely

:-)

I hope someone said something to you today that made your day, week, month. . . or maybe you said something special to someone in your life

(Oh and seeing my little presie in your sidebar made my day, I was going to say so at the time but blogger blogged out on me. xxxx)

SP just remember...
C:( people only pick on us when they are insecure and intimidated by us.

C:) going to a new school is scary, but never going to a new school would be far scarier.

C:D and, these days, with the internet and all, we don't ever have to lose friends.

But, it is handy to have a nice mom around nonetheless C;)

craig she's still asleep, but I shall show her that when she wakes up! (she still wants to go to the painted desert, btw)

gordie good!

sorrow hope you have a better one today. . . hugs XX

katherine it's so difficult to explain to a chld not to worry - because as a grown-up you can see the bigger picture - and I'm such a worrier anyhow - but just being there for someone is what counts when the words don't make an impression, eh

shot perfect timing too, which is what counted for me today

mig I'm the lucky one! and the heart is gorgeous :-)

ziggi ah! I wondered who it was. . . thought it was Victorian! no, I don't think she did because she spent too long planning her answer and then rushed and her handwriting wasn't neat (according to her good self)

I said at the age of ten it was more important to have good ideas than neat handwriting

(she was kinda convinced)

She's a gifted and gifting child. Bless her heart that she gives well.

Ain't it awesome when someone makes your day.....like SP made yours, like you made my morning by passin' it on...

Sit....Feast on your life.

the timing of her gift was perfect

and, as is being discussed elsewhere, this is a wonderful worldy way (www!!) to pass something on
