I always keep a well-equipped toolbox handy.

it's a bit of a boy thing, isn't it?

or maybe it's just that my jobs used to be changing light bulbs and unblocking sinks (actually, I seem to have lost the plunger), the decorating, the gardening - the girly things

crikey, I need to get my act together!

what colour is your tool-box then?

(and no, that's not a leading question)(you are so unbelievably cheeky - I saw your comment over at mel's and I have to admit it made me quite sad)

Sorry, was it possible to misinterpret my comment? I have two tool boxes actually; a blue metal one and a red plastic one.

At least one of them (as I said) is kept hand - the other, in my new house, will, I hope, be in my workshop.

I, Like The View said...

two. . . I'm impressed

I have acquired a kind of power drill thingy and learnt how to use a chuck

the only problem is it came with attachments for wood drilling and I need it for masonry

using it makes my hand shake

Dave said...

You need some masonry bits then.

A shaking hand may come in useful one day.

I, Like The View said...

oh, you fell for that one!

:-)

. . .your new house!

good news, I hope?

No, just a pipe-dream. I have a meeting in London on Thursday to discuss my options. Homelessness is one of them.

Okay, I admit it.
I've hammered in screws.
More than once, too.

But I now own a toolbox.
Well, it's sorta a toolbox.
I call it a toolbox.

k.....it's not an official toolbox but it's got tooley stuff in it, so it counts.

I don't need to tell you of my tool situation, do I? Yes!! It is very important to have a 3 pound sledgehammer and an 18 inch screw driver handy....

Suffice to say... I got tools. C:)

well craig, only the two? (!) I must say in my experience a good bash with a big hammer always helps

and I would have thought it was better to have a selection of screw drivers, with different size heads for different kinds of screws

;-)

but then, I'm only a DIY beginner - so I need educating

:-)

mel I'd expect nothing less of you. . . and I bet it's a really funky box

:-D

(guess what, the screw I hammered in? which was holding up my cuckoo clock. . . let's just say I need to put a rawl plug into the plaster and do it properly!)

dave :-( for homelessness, it won't come to that surely? :-) for coming to the big smoke - anywhere near SW15?

I have no idea where places are in London, and SW15 means nothing. I'm travelling from Liverpool Street to Baker Street, Thursday afternoon.

Good morning. What's the weather going to be like in London for the next few days?

I have a tool kit. Barney always whinges about how it's a typical woman's tool kit when he borrows it which he does often. What's more, he gave it to me.

I also have a nice solid hammer and a big screwdriver and a set of tiny screwdrivers. I decided to get the hammer when I hit my finger with the brick I used to keep handy in the dining room under the cupboard :)
