there are five guys working on the new abode
I'm on a limited financial budget, they have a limited amount of time to finish the work in. . .
the guys started on Monday - four showed up, even tho it was a Bank Holiday; one went out drinking for the day. . .
four have showed up at 7:30am and worked thru to 7:30pm - it's only day three so who knows what will happen, but that's a good start. . .
the one who went drinking on Monday showed up mid-way thru the morning on Tuesday and then left at lunch time because his hangover was kicking in big time; today he has a black eye and a swollen cheek the size of a fairly large steak, he says he can't remember how it happened because he was so drunk again yesterday. . .
four of them are Polish and one is English
I am not going to comment further until the work is done; on time, on budget and to my satisfaction. . .

1 out of 5 is a hopeless drunk... that is a very good ratio! My experience working construction with my brother has it usually much higher.
C:)
really? oh, I'm cheered then! (funnily enough, the drunk is the English guy - but I guess you knew that)
:-)
Mmmm, fairly large steak!
reflecting the quantity of alcohol imbibed I imagine
it's ok right now, cos he's knocking down walls, just hope it doesn't affect his ability to hang wallpaper straight. . .
*nodding*
I was thinkin' that was excellent odds for construction--but it's nice to have that confirmed by Mr. A.
I must say I'da spent the time he was on the job helping him feel as miserable as I could....but I'm kinda known for my antagonizing moments......
;-)
so...four or five men working around on your home....hmmmmmm
yeah, don't fancy any of them - so they're safe
ha ha ha
(turns out the English guy fell off his bar stool. . . yeah right. . .)
