today I am learning how to make pasta

this is a bit of a departure for me. . .

. . .I'm not a LWL and I'm not a person to go on cookery courses in the morning and then eat what I prepared for lunch either really

I also hope that I don't like it much because if I did I might be tempted to buy some pasta making equipment for the new abode, and to be honest I'd rather spend the money (if I had it) on cushions for my new sofa

yes! I'll have a new sofa instead of the crappy one that XCH left behind (not that I blame him, I wouldn't have taken it by choice) and some new armchairs; there is method in my percuniary madness - the POVS argue about who is going to sit on the sofa and the only solution seems to be me sitting with them, so all four of us end up crammed onto a three-seater sofa and one of them always feels left out as I only have two sides (if you see what I mean)

so, in the new abode there will only be three seats in front of the tv and my sofa will be in front of the fire place; however, I like a hug 'n' cuddle as much as the next person - so one of the seats is a slightly larger size, dubbed a "love seat". . .

thus I will be able to cuddle with one the other two won't have to put up with each other and if the four of us want the good treatment we can all sit in front of the fire and then noone gets to argue about which channel we're going to watch

what that has to do with pasta I have no idea - oh, I know! cushions! I don't think I'll be making raviolli, as that would involve making a filling and I think all I'm learning what to do this morning is make the pasta dough itself (I'm good at pastry, and figured it was probably the same kind of skill)

I'll fill you in later

(that was a joke,
about raviolli. . .)

have a good day until then
.
post script! I'm converted: sod the cushions, I'm going to buy a pasta machine right now!!

Way cool soundin' sofa! And a fireplace-- :-)

Sounds like 'problem solved' to me....until they decide to rearrange the furniture so layin' on the couch to watch television becomes an option..LOL
Gotta love 'em, eh?

Oh.....and there's nothing like a good batch of homemade egg noodles!
(and that would be the extent of my pasta makin' skills......LOL)

Molly has her own sofa.

What's an LWL?

I, Like The View said...

lady who lunches. . .

I'm no lady, for starters, and I don't often eat lunch, but it basically applies to women who live off their husbands (*cough splutter*)and have nothing better to do with their time than go out with their girlfriends. . .

ho hum

katherine I'm suddenly into the joys of pasta making; the sofa in front of the fire is because I hate sofas in front of tvs

it's not a real fire, but one of those gas fired look-a-like-a-real-fire fires, with fake coal - which is fine and dandy; we had a real fire in the old house and a house before that, taking out the ashes is too much of a chore for a lazybones like me (altho I do get enormous pleasure from actually making fires and throwing logs on. . .)(hmmmmmmmmm maybe I'll put a real one in, and get The Teen to take out the ashes!)

mel "rearrange the furniture"? don't go givin' 'em ideas! the pasta thing was way cool, and so easy!! more another day (I took photos!)(with my phone!)

:-D

"maybe I'll put a real one in"

bad, BAD idea, unless you were looking forward to not breathing and having a house filled with smoke.

Will there be pasta photos after the party? Will it have been a pasta party (like the Beer hunter game only less wet?)
