.
It was the third of September.
That day I'll always remember, yes I will.
'Cause that was the day that my daddy died.
I never got a chance to see him.
Never heard nothing but bad things about him.
Mama, I'm depending on you to tell me the truth.
And Mama just hung her head and said,
"Son, Papa was a rolling stone.
Wherever he laid his hat was his home.
(And when he died)
All he left us was alone."
.
Well, well.
Hey Mama, is it true what they say,
That Papa never worked a day in his life?
And Mama, some bad talk going around town
Saying that Papa had three outside children and another wife.
And that ain't right.
Hey, talk about Papa doing some store front preaching.
Talked about saving souls and all the time leeching.
Dealing in debt and stealing in the name of the Lord.
Mama just hung her head and said,
"Papa was a rolling stone, my son.
Wherever he laid his hat was his home.
(And when he died) All he left us was alone."
.
Uh!
Hey Mama, I heard Papa called himself a jack of all trades.
Tell me is that what sent Papa to an early grave?
Folks say Papa would beg, borrow, steal to pay his bills.
Hey Mama, folks say that Papa was never much on thinking.
Spent most of his time chasing women and drinking.
Mama, I'm depending on you to tell me the truth.
And Mama looked up with a tear in her eye and said,
"Son, Papa was a rolling stone.
(Well, well, well, well)
Wherever he laid his hat was his home.
(And when he died)
All he left us was alone."

That's what I call a Swiss Army knife. Mine's only half that size.

I love tiny rockery plants.

Alpines and Swiss Army knives are connected, loosely.

now there's a place I'd like to go sometime!

rockery plants, moss, lichen, are fascinating - all those miniature leaves; I also have a passion for cuckoo clocks. . .

but this:

scares the hell out of me

The first link didn't work. Is the second picture the thing that's going to make a black hole which will eat up the entire world?

I might as well eat this steak then.

Awwwww.......had those wee thingies in the rock garden last year. I'll have 'em again this year, if they've survived 74 inches of snow. (I peeked and I think they have!)

Dunno what that last link was---but it scared me, too.
*shudder*

google image "switzerland" and it's the photo on the left of the second line, of a lovely lake - from a blog called "wayfaring frog"

yup, it's only weeks away now. . .

oh, hi mel! I would imagine that alpines might just survive snow. . .

;-)

(if they don't, I think you could get your money back!!)

I'd like to see Switzerland. And Austria. Perhaps you could organise an outing.

I'd like to go to Barcelona. Perhaps you could organise an outing.

My daughter went there a few weeks ago. Apart from a couple of interesting buildings, she said there's little to see there.

There, that saved you a trip.

I apologise for being remiss in my visitations..actually I have been relaxing and just listening to tunes...since I saw the Foo Fighters last week I realised how much I've missed just enjoying music.
