beach, anyone?

.
and of course, because we're going to be on holiday, at the end of the day there has to be the obligatory round of karaoke - let's join these three*. . .
.

J'veux pas finir mes jours à Tombouctou
(Tombouctou)
La peau tirée par des machines à clous
Moi je veux être fripé, triplement fripé
Frippé comme une triplette de Belleville

J'veux pas finir ma vie à Acapulco
(Acapulco)
Danser tout raide avec des gigolos
Moi je veux être tordu, triplement tordu
Balancé comme une triplette de Belleville
(Allez les filles, allons...)

Swinging Belleville rendez-vous
Marathon dancing doum dilou
Vaudou cancan, balais tabou
Au Belleville swinging rendez-vous

J'veux pas finir ma vie à Singapour
(Singapour)

.
.
Swinging Belleville rendez-vous
Marathon dancing doum dilou
Vaudou cancan, balais tabou
Au Belleville swinging rendez-vous
Swinging Belleville rendez-vous
Marathon dancing doum dilou
Vaudou cancan, balais tabou
Au Belleville swinging rendez-vous

as sung by The Belleville Triplets
from the animated film The Belleville Rendez-Vous

I'm not really a beach person (although I did enjoy pottering on the deserted ones in the Orkneys) nor will you ever catch me doing karaoke. So I'm opting out today.

I'm sure you'll enjoy just sitting back and listening, as the sun goes down, with a glass of cool spring water. . .

:-)

<--could spend forever on the beach listening to and watching the ocean.

*happysigh*

Beachtime is a very centering, peacefilled thing.

katherine thos translator thingies never quite get it right, in my extremely humble opinion!

je veux is "I wish"

je voudrai is "I would like"

the Belleville Triplets are shown singing this song at the beginning of the film, along with a very exotic topless dancer - who wears only a banana-skirt (the bananas swing about as she dances, as do her very perky breasts)(eventually the men in the audience can contain themselves no longer and she is mobbed on stage, and the bananas stripped away. . .)

the BVTs are young at the beginning; then we meet them again, when they are in their dotage but can still hold a pretty good tune and the most incredible beat. . .

it is the most beautifully drawn film, and a sweet sweet story

:-)

zigz it's a beach with ponies who take you trekking thru the pine forest and down thru the sand-dunes to splash in the sea!

shot that most certainly does! happy day to you too, sir

Well I must say I love the translation :) Somehow the incomplete bits make it even more - seductive?
I wish you sunny days and beautiful times watching the swell. And rare birds swooping. And heavenly dinners of freshly caught fish.
And stars.
