for mel

Time to let the rain fall
Without the help of man.
.

Time to let the trees grow tall
Now if they only can.
.

Time to let our children live
In a land that’s free.

Ally, ally, ally, ally oxen free
Ally, ally, ally, ally oxen free

.

Time to blow the smoke away,
And look at the sky again.
.

Time to let our friends all know
We’d like to begin again.
.

.Ally, ally, ally, ally oxen free

Ally, ally, ally, ally oxen free
Ally, ally, ally, ally oxen free

.

Time to send a message
Across the land and sea.

Time to the see the fairness
Of our children’s game
.

.
Time for men to stop
And learn to do the same.
..

.
Time to make our minds up
If the world at last will be.

.

Ally, ally, ally, ally oxen free
Ally, ally, ally, ally oxen free

and I quote from my research: "some people think this expression came from the Biblical 'Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?' ('My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?'); an amusing, but highly unlikely, etymological possibility. . ."
.

one of the things I like so much about blogging is what you learn - the variety of life that you are exposed to - even ordinary everyday things like the changes in the weather that other people experience when you yourself live in a city where the sky is constantly grey and the clouds are uniform and dull and just plod across the landscape and nothing really ever happens. . .

.

until you stop looking at the bigger picture
.
but then,
other times
.
the bigger picture is just as good
.

with love X

The images are gorgeous!

I always thought it was from the German, "Alle, alle auch sind frei!" But then, what do I know?

Hugs and happy thoughts to you and your readers.

I, still, like the views said...

mel I am SO GLAD!

:-D

ally ally oxen free!

or, erm

alle alle auch sind frei. . .

. . .what does that mean then, shot?

hugs and happy thoughts to you too, to you both - and anyone else who is hanging about

The literal, word for word translation would be "Everyone (or everybody), everyone is also free!"

Which would make sense within the context of a game of hide-and-go-seek.

Oh that's lovely :)
The images go with the words so beautifully. I feel much less damp and drizzly now, thank you :)
